Employee schedule guides

These guides are for a manager at a small frontline business who builds one weekly employee schedule and needs the team to follow the current version. They cover the work Skeday actually does. You add employees and the shifts you repeat, copy last week, change the days that moved, and publish. A draft stays private until that publish. The team then has a read-only link, and you can download a PDF whose QR code opens that link. The guides do not cover payroll, attendance, employee logins, or automatic scheduling. A company is one team, with up to 50 active employees. The price is $5 per month after a 14-day trial, and the trial does not ask for a card.

How to make a weekly employee schedule

Start here when next week is still empty. List the people, add the shifts you reuse, copy last week, and change only the days that moved. Publish when the week is the one the team should follow. The guide walks through that order so the first setup stays separate from the short edits that come after it.

How to share a work schedule with your team

A screenshot in chat and an emailed file both go stale, and the file can be changed by anyone who opens it. This guide is about sharing one read-only link instead. When you publish again, that same link shows the update. People do not need an account to open it.

Some teams still want the week on the wall. This guide covers the PDF and the QR code printed on it. The code opens the public schedule, so an older sheet can still lead to the current week after the next publish. You reprint when you want the ink to match, not for every small edit.

Employee schedule instead of Excel

Excel can list names, shifts, and days off. The hard part is the copies: a workbook in chat, a second edit, and no single week the team should trust. This guide sets one published schedule next to that spreadsheet routine, and it says plainly what a spreadsheet is still better for, including budgets and one-off lists.
